Q: What type of toothbrush should I use?

A: There are two major types: electric toothbrushes and manual toothbrushes. Electric toothbrushes work by doing a lot of the work for you and many models have features to time your brushing, tell you when you are pushing too hard, and have various settings. If you prefer a manual toothbrush then use one with soft bristles to avoid damage to your gum tissue.

Q: Which kind of toothpaste is best to use?

A: Any toothpaste with fluoride, the brand is not important. The fluoride in the toothpaste helps fight cavities.

Q: How often should I brush?

A: You should brush at least twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste for 2 minutes and floss once a day to clean between the teeth.

Q: Why won’t my insurance cover that?

A: Dental coverage is decided by how much your employer pays into the plan. Your coverage is not based on your needs or what your dentist recommends. Treatment should not be based solely on dental benefits, but by you and your dentist and what your needs are. Our goal is to help you take good care of your teeth and maintain a healthy mouth and body. We do everything we can to help, which includes filing insurance as a courtesy to our patients.
